Advocate • Storyteller • Doer
Denver Humphrey is a 16-year-old award-winning storyteller, filmmaker, and advocate born and raised in NJ, living in Orlando, Florida. A dynamic creative voice, Denver uses storytelling to center underrepresented narratives and spark conversations around identity, resilience, and justice for marginalized communities.
Find Me in the Void marks her directorial debut — a supernatural mystery inspired by a personal experience and the staggering statistic that over 90,000 Black women and girls go missing every year. The film reimagines this narrative through the lens of sisterhood, astral projection, and self-determination.
Denver’s work extends beyond film. She is a writer, performer, and collaborator passionate about mental wellness, social advocacy, and creating opportunities for people of color in creative industries. She has previously collaborated with organizations like DoSomething, Headstream, and InTandem, using media as a tool for impact.
When she isn’t behind the camera, Denver is busy hosting well-being events for youth, co-leading a nonprofit, baking, or working on her next original song.
Fun Fact: Find Me in the Void features an original song written and performed by Denver to accompany the film’s release.
Workshop Facilitator & Youth Storytelling Advocate
In addition to filmmaking, Denver is a passionate workshop facilitator and youth leader. She designs and leads creative storytelling sessions for young people, focusing on how to turn personal experiences into advocacy-driven art.
These sessions have been hosted in schools, youth programs, and community events — creating safe spaces for young people to process difficult topics and imagine new futures for themselves and their communities.
